About

Why Spotilol exists, and who makes it possible.

Why Spotilol?

Listening to music should be simple. No interruptions breaking your flow, no fighting with your own player. Spotilol was created to deliver a better listening experience — taking Spotify's web player and wrapping it in a fast, native Android shell with adblocking built right in.

It started as a project to solve a personal annoyance and grew into something shared with everyone. Every feature — offline downloads, Android Auto, full media controls, AMOLED mode — exists because someone in the community asked for it.

Open source, community first

Spotilol is free and open-source. The full code is public, every change is reviewable, and nothing happens behind your back. A safe, transparent community is part of the project's DNA.

Quality over quantity

Releases ship when they're ready — not before. Each version is tested on real devices, and the project is ported from legacy smali to clean, modern Kotlin so it stays maintainable and reliable for the long run. The goal is simple: the best possible quality, in every build.
